Evelyn F Cords

Evelyn Frances Cords, 83, of Fond du Lac, died Saturday, June 20, 2009, at St. Agnes Hospital. She was born December 21, 1925, in the Town of Marshfield, the daughter of William V. and Agnes J. Schaefer Kraus. On April 7, 1951, she married Alvin C. "Big Al" Cords at Holy Cross Church in Mt. Calvary. He preceded her in death on December 24, 1996. Mrs. Cords was a member of Holy Family Parish-Sacred Heart Church, the St. Anne Society, and the Quilting Club. She enjoyed making cookies and gardening flowers. She is survived by eleven children, Elmer (Mary) Cords of Fond du Lac, and their children, Kevin (Sarah), Jason (Amanda), and Bradley, Shirley (Fiance' Geoffrey Brand) McDermott of North Fond du Lac and her son Christopher, Jerry (Michelle) Cords of Fond du Lac and their son, Joshua, Jim (Nicole) Cords of Oakfield and their children Tony (Cathy) Immel, Matthew Immel, Michaela, and Danielle, Ruth (Mike) McGinnis of Fond du Lac and children Nicole and Amy, Jeanne (Dean) Rentmeester of Fond du Lac and their children Jennifer, Julie (Blair) Wilson, and John, David Cords of Oshkosh and his children David Michael (Sarah), Melissa (Ken) Schimmel, and April (Jon) Young, Carol (Joe) Stephanie of St. Cloud and their daughter Courtney, Pat (Mark) Schiefelbein of Fond du Lac and their daughters Ashley and Brittany, Jeffrey (Heide) Cords of Fond du Lac and their children, Ryan and Robyn, and Mary (Randy) Kuik of Lamartine and their children, Nicholas and Samantha, and nine great-grandchildren. She is further survived by four brothers, Marvin (Betty) Kraus of Mt. Calvary, Ralph (Bernice) Kraus of Mt. Calvary, Alex (Marlene) Kraus of Fond du Lac, and Charles (Tootie) Kraus of New Holstein, a sister-in-law, Rosetta Kraus of Mt. Calvary, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Also surviving are five special Godchildren, Mark, Brian, and Scott Kraus, Gerald Ries, and Dennis Kraus. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, "Big Al", a son-in-law, John McDermott, two brothers, Tony and Jerome, a sister, Rosetta Ries, twin infant sisters, two brothers-in-law, Ralph Ries and Roy Schmidt, a sister-in-law, Anita Schmidt.



Visitation for Mrs. Evelyn Frances Cords will be on Tuesday, June 23, 2009, from 4 to 8 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, and on Wednesday, June 24th from 9 to 10 am at Sacred Heart Church, 232 S. Peters Avenue, Fond du Lac. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am at the church. Entombment will be in the Chapel of The Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery.
