Evelyn I. Totzke, 95, formerly of 390 Evergreen Avenue, Fond du Lac, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, February 14, 2010 at Fond du Lac Lutheran Home. She was born March 20, 1914 in Montello, the daughter of Gustau and Gertrude North Saltzwadel. Evelyn married Fred W. Schroeder in Stevens Point, WI in 1934 and he preceded her in death on January 8, 1950. On May 2, 1953 she married Melvin R. Totzke in Fond du Lac and he preceded her in death on April 18, 2009. Evelyn worked at Bestt Rollr retiring in 1981. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, traveling, crossword puzzles, playing cards, and loved spending time with her family. Evelyn was also known as the angel food "queen".SURVIVORS: her children, Ken Schroeder, Madison, WI, Ione Schroeder, Fond du Lac, Geraldine (Adrian) Lashock, Princeton, WI, Betty Schroeder, Fond du Lac, Larry Schroeder, Fond du Lac; nine grandchildren, Dawn Schroeder, Gail (special friend, Pat) Schroeder, Brian (special friend, Gail) Schroeder, Karla (Gregory) Francken, Jeffrey Lashock, Julie (Steve) Sondalle, Randy (Lida) Lashock, LuAnn (Bruce) Livingston, Kevin (special friend, Amy) Lashock; 17 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by one sister, Ruth Stephany, Fond du Lac; two sisters-in-law, Agnes (Arlin) Leonhardt, Fond du Lac, Lillian Saltzwadel, North Fond du Lac; one brother-in-law, Eugene (Janet) Totzke, Hilbert, WI; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; one son, James; a daughter-in-law, Noreen Schroeder;four sisters and three brothers.
VISITATION: will be from 4 "“ 8 PM on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and again from 9 "“ 10 AM on Thursday at church. The funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Rev. Fred Toppe officiating.
