Evelyn J. "Eve" Parish

Evelyn J. "Eve" Parish, 97. of N8221 Cottage Drive, North Fond du Lac, died Sunday, March 14, 2010, at ManorCare Nursing Center. She was born March 21, 1912, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Stanley and Dora Mateske Gongorek. On December 22, 1930, she married Merton L. "Mert" Parish in Chicago. He preceded her in death on December 22, 1978. She graduated from North Fond du Lac High School in 1930, and was a lifelong member of Presentation Church. Eve was employed as a clerk at Holzmann and Berenz Grocery Stores in Fond du Lac. She and her husband were members of the Fondy Riders Motorcycle in the late 1940's and 50's. She enjoyed playing organ and her two pet cats, and in her younger years, enjoyed off shore fishing with her family. Surviving are two sons, James (Bonnie) Parish of South Byron and Edward of Fond du Lac, a daughter, Dorothy (Edward) Jacobs of San Diego, CA, 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Her parents, husband, two sons, Donald and David, and twin infant great-grandchildren preceded her in death.
