Evelyn M. "Evie" Loeffler

Evelyn "Evie" M. Loeffler, age 80 a resident of Grancare Nursing Center, died Thursday, December 20, 2007 at the nursing center. She was born on October 19, 1927 in the Town of Empire the daughter of Adolph E. and Violet L. Abel Jeske. On October 9, 1948 she married John A. Loeffler in Chicago. Evie attended St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran School, Winnebago Lutheran Academy, and also Fond du Lac Senior High School. She was employed at various places around Fond du Lac; Montgomery Wards, Infant Socks, Wells Manufacturing, Bobby Brooks, Fond du Lac Store, Kresge, Tempo, and Wieman's "Five and Dime" stores in her early teens. She was a member of the Church of Peace-UCC since the 1960's and a member of the Martha's Society at church. Evie was a member of the Fond du Lac Eagles Auxiliary where she served as vice president. Evie was most happy when her family members were around her. She had one best friend "Bunsey" for over 60 years. Had two favorite daughters. She wasn't afraid of trying anything new, skiing, ice fishing, learning to drive in her 30's. Often talked about her cousin Connie and her two boy cousins whom she followed around as a child. She enjoyed planting flowers and feeding the birds. Had a love for pet's, cat, dogs, birds and fish. No luck with the fish they always died. She thought she over feed them, just like she did with her family members. One of her most favorite things was helping at church and reading the Bible.Survivors: include two daughters, Sharon Mafredas and Lois (Robert) LeMense of Fond du Lac, WI. four grandchildren, Daniel (Angela) Mafredas of Lakeville, MN. Jennifer LeMense (friend Keith) of Madison, WI., Sarah (Jesse) Wuest and Kara LeMense of Fond du Lac, WI., Five great grandchildren Tyler, Caleb, Isaac Wuest all of Fond du Lac, Emily Mafredas of Lakeville, MN and Job LeMense of Fond du Lac. A sister Hazel (Bud) Harrelson of Inverness, FL. Her beloved niece and nephews Diane McFadyen of Pflugerville, Tx., Richard Ferdinand of Nine mile Falls, WA and Dirk Harrelson of Hodgkins, Il., and numerous great nieces and great nephews. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents Adoph E. Jeske and Violet L. Abel Jeske. Her husband John A. Loeffler on March 5, 1989 and a son-in-law Daniel Mafredas on Feb. 4, 2006



VISITATION: Friends may call on Thursday December 27, 2007 from 3 to 5 pm at Church of Peace, UCC, 158 S. Military Rd. Fond du Lac, WI. FUNERAL: Funeral Services will be held at 5 P.M. at the Church of Peace with Rev. Jenny Dawson officiating. Burial will be held at Rienzi Cemetery 2007 at 10:00 A.M., Friday, December 28, 2007
