Evelyn M. Lauber

Evelyn M. Lauber, age 90 formerly of 86 East 1st Street, later a resident of St. Clare Terrace and the St. Francis Home, died Sunday, November 25, 2007 at St. Agnes Hospital. She was born on April 24, 1917 in Malone the daughter of John and Anna Wollersheim Birschbach. On September 12,1946 she married Herman J. Lauber at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Fond du Lac. Herman preceded her in death on April 15, 1957. Evelyn and her husband opened the St. Joseph's Book Room originally in the basement of St. Joseph's Church and later after her husband's death she moved the business to 86 East 1st Street where she ran it until 2001 when it was sold and later moved to downtown Fond du Lac. Evelyn was a member of Holy Family Parish- St. Joseph's Church, Daughters of Isabella, and the 3rd Order of St. Francis. She enjoyed her family, her many friends and customers. Evelyn was a gentle person who lived a faith filled life.Survivors include three children, Joanne (Larry) Michaels, Fond du Lac, John (Debby) Lauber, Wauwatosa, Geralyn (Bob) Heffron, Appleton, six grandchildren, Bryan Michaels, Milwaukee, Becky Michaels, New York, Veronica Heffron, New York, Dan, Kathy and Mike Lauber all of Wauwatosa. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Eldred and a sister Esther.



VISITATION: Wednesday, November 28, 2007 from 4 to 8 P.M. at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. FUNERAL: Thursday, November 29, 2007 a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 P.M. at Holy Family Parish-Sacred Heart Church. Reverend Patrick Heppe will officiate. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
