Everett A. "Emmitt" Riske

July 18, 1933 — March 5, 2014

Everett "Emmitt" A. Riske, 80, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Kindred Hearts Memory Care in Fond du Lac. He was born July 18, 1933 in Waupaca, WI, the son of Edward and Minnie (Flink) Riske. After graduating from Waupaca High, Emmitt served his country in the U.S. Army from 1953-1956. On September 27, 1958, Emmitt married Nancy March in Oshkosh, WI. Emmitt was a great husband,a great dad, a great friend, a great father-in-law; an all around great guy. He worked for Rueping Leather for 30 years and then another 15 years for Ozburn Hessey Logistics. He was known by many through his involvement with Blue Line Hockey. In addition, he umpired for many years throughout the community and was a member of the Softball Hall of Fame. Emmitt loved the Cubs. He enjoyed bowling and going to church; he was a lifelong member of Hope Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac. Emmitt is survived by two sons; Mitchell Riske and Mark Riske, all of Fond du Lac and one daughter; Lynne (David) Marcy of Fond du Lac, five grandchildren; Joshua Marcy of Kingwood, TX, Whitney Marcy of Fond du Lac, Gabe, Savannah and Sierrah Riske, all of Fond du Lac, two brothers; Elmo Riske of Fond du Lac and Jerry (Judy)Riske of Amarillo, TX, one sister; Shirley (Denny) Behn of Waupaca, one sister in law Judy Leinhard of Tucson AZ., and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-two years, Nancy, his parents, one brother, Tiny Riske, two sisters; Joyce (Wayne) Griswald and Janice (Wayne) Dunham, and one sister-in-law, Patricia "Pat" Riske.



A visitation for Emmitt will take place Monday, March 10, 2014 from 4-7 P.M. at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac and again on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 10-11 A.M. at Hope Lutheran Church, 260 Vincent St. in Fond du Lac. Emmitt's funeral will follow the visitation on Tuesday at 11 A.M. with the Rev. Steven Huff officiating. Burial will follow the funeral in Ledgeview Memorial Park with military honors presented by the American Legion Trier Puddy Post #75.Additional information and guestbook can be found at www.ueckerwitt.com Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
