Florence E. Hills

Florence E. Hills, age 87, passed away Thursday evening, July 5th, 2007 at ManorCare Health Services. Florence formerly lived on Grove Street and Ashbury Farm. She was born in Monroe, WI on March 20, 1920 the eldest child of the late Arthur and Marjorie (Blumer) Stubbe. Mrs. Hills grew up on the family farm and attended school until the eighth grade. She worked previously at the Retlaw Hotel, Newberry's, Zubrod Photography, O'Brien's, Rueping Leather, and retired from Wells Manufacturing. Florence was able to travel to Texas, Florida, and Europe. She loved her pets. She was a member of the Church of Peace-UCC. In 1958, Florence married Bruce O. Hills in New Mexico. He preceded her in death on September 11, 1979.Florence is survived by three children, Robert M. Hankwitz, of Fond du Lac, Carol "Ann" (Lee "Bucky") Bell, of Fond du Lac, Bruce B. Hills of Black River Falls, WI, grandchildren, Catherine, Mary, and Michael Bell of Fond du Lac, Rev. Robert (Christina) Hankwitz of Collins, WI, Neil (Tracy) Hankwitz of Burlington, WI, Christine (Tom) Tollefson of Grove City, OH, and Jason (Jenny) Hills of Minot, ND. Florence has sixteen great-grandchildren, and is further survived by a sister, Mrs. Betty "Tootie" Bartelt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce, a brother, Robert Stubbe, a brother in law, Gerald "Red" Bartelt, a daughter in law, Darlene Hankwitz, and a great grandson, Aaron Tykwinski.



VISITATION: Monday, July 9, 2007 from 9-11 A.M. at Church of Peace-UCC. FUNERAL: Monday, July 9, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at Church of Peace-UCC with the Reverend Chuck Fluegel officiating. Burial will follow at Ledgeview Memorial Park. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at ManorCare Health Services and Dr. Saleh for everything they have done for Florence.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
