Francis J. HubertyFrancis J. Huberty, 88, of 560 E. 2nd Street, Fond du Lac, died Tuesday, August 01, 2006, at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born April 2, 1918, in Dotyville, the son of Nicholas and Julia Kempf Huberty. On August 22, 1970, he married Marguerite "Tootie" Langolf at St. Joseph's Church in Fond du Lac. Francis was a veteran of WW II serving in the US Army and was a prisoner of war in Germany. He received the Bronze Star. He was employed by the Fond du Lac Commonwealth Reporter for 30 years, working as a type setter/printer. He later worked at St. Vincent de Paul as a maintenance man for 26 years. Francis was a member of Holy Family Parish-St. Joseph's Church, a Life Member of the Catholic War Veterans #1329, where he served as commander, of Eagles Aerie #270, where he currently was serving as Chaplain, and where he had served in all of the Aerie's offices. He was a past member of the Moose Lodge, a member of the American Ex-Prisoners of War, and was a Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1904. Francis collected match books, he was an active volunteer in Catholic War Veterans bingo, he enjoyed gardening, especially growing tomatoes, loved playing cards, and fixing things around the house.Surviving are his wife, Marguerite "Tootie" Huberty, of Fond du Lac and one daughter, Jolene (Steve Wochenske) of Oconomowoc. His parents, an infant daughter, Michelle Lorraine Huberty, on June 27, 1972, four brothers, Ralph, Jerry, Arthur, and Edward, and four sisters, Leone, Irene, Anna, and Eleanore preceded him in death.



Visitation will be on Thursday, August 3, 2006, from 4 to 8 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday, August 4, 2006, at 10:30 am at the funeral home and Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Church. The Rev. Patrick Heppe of Holy Family Parish will officiate and entombment will follow in the Chapel of The Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by Trier-Puddy American Legion Post #75 Firing Squad. Additional information and guest book may be found at www.ueckerwitt.com
