Francis W. Hesprich, 95, of Westfield, WI, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018 at Harris Villa (Assisted Living), Westfield, WI with family surrounding him. He was born to John Fred and Isabelle (Strobel) Hesprich on January 4, 1923, in Lomira, WI. On November 18, 1950, he married Laverne G. Grusnick at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Waupun. Francis was a member of Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, North Fond du Lac for many years.
He grew up on a dairy farm and was a dairy farmer for a short time after he married. From there, he was a factory worker, eventually becoming foreman of the brake department and a union steward for Mayville Metal. After retirement Laverne and Francis enjoyed spending the winters in Yuma, AZ before finally moving back to Wisconsin to be closer to family. Francis enjoyed fishing, golf, bowling, playing cards and Yahtzee, as well as being a Green Bay Packer, WI Badger, and Brewer fan. He particularly loved going on Canadian fishing trips with family.
Francis is survived by his children, Steven (Kim) Hesprich, New Lisbon; David (Annie) Hesprich, Fond du Lac; Jeanne (Joe Binkley) Hesprich, Oshkosh; Mary Kay (Mark) Christie, Madison; Barbara Hesprich, Fairbault, MN; siblings: Rita Grusnick, Germaine Brennan, Louise Held, Dorothy Becker, and Anthony Hesprich; 2 sisters-in-laws: Virginia Krause, and Rosemary Detweiler; 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, two-week-old infant son, Robert John Hesprich, one brother, Raymond, two sisters, Joan Krofta and Catherine Hemmrich; his father-in-law and mother-in- law; six brothers-in- law, and two sisters-in-law.
Visitation will be from 9-11 AM on Saturday, April 7, 2018 followed with a Mass of Christian Burial held at 11:00 AM at Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 705 Michigan Ave, North Fond du Lac, 54937. Burial will be in Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery.
