Franklin S. Karr, 78, of 100 Prairie Road, Fond du Lac, died Thursday, December 06, 2007 at Manor Care Health Services were he had been a resident since October of this year. He was born August 4, 1929 in Arkansas City, KS, the son of Frank and Knote Holmes Karr. On June 16, 1959 he married Joyce Pederson at Good Shepard Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam. Joyce preceded him in death on June 16, 1962. On February 11, 1967 he married Anna Gosse-Bacon at Good Shepard Luthern Church, Beaver Dam. Franklin was a custodian with Wisconsin Power and Light for 25 years retiring in 1991. He was a veteran of the US Army Signal Corp from 1951 -1953 serving in the Korean War. He is a member of the Apostolic Christian Church, Fond du Lac. Franklin was a former member of the Bohlman Grimes VFW Post 1904 were he served has commander. He volunteered for the Salvation Army and was an avid Bible reader.SURVIVORS: his wife Anna Karr, a resident of Manor Care Health Services; three daughters, Anne (Brian) Orvis, Carol (Bruce) Seemann, Linda Bogenschneider, all of Fond du Lac; five grandchildren, Scott (Angela) Orvis, Ashley M. Orvis, Nadine (Randy) Baus, John Seemann, Garrett Rescheske; two great grandchildren, Kaitlin and Lucianna Bous. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Joyce, an infant son and daughter.
VISITATION: will be from 9AM "“ 1PM Saturday, December 8, 2007 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 1 PM on Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Les Ludvigsen officiating. Cremation will follow the traditional services. Inurnment will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, Horicon.In lieu of flowers memorials appreciated to the Fond du Lac Salvation Army.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
