Fred G. Williams

Fred G. Williams, 80, of Oakfield, died Saturday, September 10, 2011 at his residence. He was born October 16, 1930 in the Town of Linwood, Portage County, the son of James and Gertrude Kujawski Williams. Fred was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1948 "“ 1949. On June 21, 1952 he married Virginia Leonard at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Wausau, WI. He farmed in the Oakfield area and worked for several businesses until his retirement in 2001. He was a member of Sons of Zebedee, St. James. Fred enjoyed hunting, fishing, bird watching, polka dancing, watching westerns, baking bread, making maple syrup and loved traveling, spending the last 10 winters with his wife in Texas.SURVIVORS: his wife, Virginia; seven children, Peter Williams, Oakfield, Steven (Barb) Williams, Lomira, Mark Williams, Oakfield, David Williams, Oakfield, Lynne (Thomas) Williams-Kryger, Itasca, IL, Jennifer (Wayne) Schmid, St. Robert, MO, Julie Williams, Evergreen Park, IL; twelve grandchildren; four great grandchildren. He is further survived by five siblings, Harold (Josephine) Williams, Merrill,WI, Henry (Marjorie) Williams, Gleason, WI, Grace (Gerald) Beilke, Hixton, WI, Betty (Carl) Utteck, Merrill, WI, Mary (Lawrence) Heintz, Kenosha, WI; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; six siblings, Ruth, Ralph, William, Helen, Arthur, Richard; one daughter-in-law, Janet Williams.



VISITATION: will be from 9 "“ 11 AM on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Sons of Zebedee, St. James Church, Oakfield. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Sons of Zebedee, St. James Church, Oakfield, with Rev. Michael Petersen officiating. Cremation will follow the traditional services.Memorials are appreciated in Fred's name to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
