Frederic C. Thome

June 23, 1924 — April 26, 2008

Born June 23, 1924 to Reverend Otto and Elaine (Smith) Thome in Rockford, Illinois. After returning from active duty in the Pacific Theater, Fred met and married his wife of 58 years, Sally (Ewing) Thome in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Fred spent a lifetime active in church leadership and youth ministries. Professionally, he exported products internationally for Mercury Marine and Barber Colman of Rockford, Illinois. Fred is survived by his son Paul (June) Thome, and three daughters, Nancy Buchholtz, Barbara (Bill) Zoch and Lisa (Ron) Inks. Fred had six grandchildren and one great-grandson; Brian (Kate) Thome, Eric Thome, Matthew Zoch (Beth Grube), Andrew Zoch (Jade Krug), Rylee Inks, Sydney Inks and Nevins Zoch. Fred is preceded in death by his parents, sister Barbara Fields, brother Randall Thome and son-in-law Evan Buchholtz.



VISITATION: Monday, April 28, 2008 from 5-7 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. FUNERAL: Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at Salem United Methodist Church with the Reverend David Byers-Dent officiating. Burial will follow at Ledgeview Memorial Park. Friends may call on Tuesday at the church from 12 noon until the time of services. Trier-Puddy American Legion Post #75 will conduct military graveside services.The family would like to recognize the loving care that Fred received from many dedicated people who cared for him at Rolling Meadows Nursing Home and the Lutheran Home.
