Frederick L. Ziegler

Frederick L. Ziegler Jr, age 84, of North Fond du Lac, died Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at his residence. He was born on February 11, 1930 in Fond du Lac, the son of Frederick L. and Clara I. (Tounzen) Ziegler Sr. On June 9, 1951 he married Delila Halle at Church of Our Saviour in Fond du Lac. Fred was active duty in the United States Air Force for twenty-seven years serving at numerous bases around the world. He retired as a missile electronic maintenance superintendent. He retired in 1974 as a M/Sgt. Following retirement Fred attended UW-FdL where he earned an Associate’s Degree. He then went on to be a counselor at the Veteran’s office in Fond du Lac.



Fred was a member of Church of Our Saviour in Fond du Lac. Fred and Delila formerly had Ceramics Etc. store in North Fond du Lac and were well known for their ceramics and rosettes at the Fond du Lac Farmer’s Market along with many other items there. He was a former board member of the Silver and Gold Club at Marine Credit Union and the local AARP chapter.



SURVIVORS: his wife Delila of North Fond du Lac; five children, Dee (John) Gremminger of North Fond du Lac, Bonnie Unruh of Phoenix, AZ, Robin (Jane) Ziegler of Wilson, NC, Michael (Tina) Ziegler of Phoenix, AZ, and Patrick (Lynn) Ziegler of Northfield, MN; fourteen grandchildren, Patricia (Christopher) Reed, Jayson Gremminger, Tessa (Jason) Stoeger, Jessica (Tres) Clemmons, Alison Ziegler, Christopher Ziegler, Jennifer (Chris) Huard, Christine (Robert) Nelson, Jonathan Unruh, Emily Clocksin, Nicolas Clocksin, Tim Ziegler, Andrew Ziegler, and Maria Ziegler; nine great-grandchildren, Jazzmine Morin, Dalton Gremminger, Zeek Clemons, Sutter Clemons, Brooklyn Clemons, Andrew Ziegler, Benjamin Ziegler, Cody Nelson, and Finnley Reed; one great-great-grandchild, Michael Koehler; two brothers Donald Ziegler and James Ziegler, one sister, Flora Lee Myers, daughter in law, Diane Ziegler, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Taryn Unruh; one great-grandson, Jacob Ziegler; one son in law, Ron Unruh; two sisters in law, Betty Ziegler and Mabel Ziegler; one brother in law, Bucky Myers.



VISITATION: Monday, August 25, 2014 from 10:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Church of Our Saviour, 363 S. Main St, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. FUNERAL: Monday, August 25, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at the church with the Reverend Matthew Agee officiating. Entombment will follow the service in the Wall of Honor at Ledgeview Memorial Park.
