Gail M. Welter

Gail M. Welter, 85, of Johnsburg, died on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at Edenbrook Fond du Lac. She was born on April 9, 1936, in Escanaba, MI, the daughter of Franklin and Rose (Hubert) Steede. On November 3, 1962, she married Ronald Welter in Escanaba, MI. Gail had a master’s degree in theology. She was a teacher for over 30 years at various catholic schools. Recently, Gail worked at St. Francis Home in their Alzheimer’s unit. She enjoyed her flower gardens and writing children’s stories.



She is survived by her son, Paul (Annette Kern) Welter; four sisters, Sr. Marcus, Frances Oettinger, Rosalind (Allen) Henderson, and Claire (Terry) Butler; special friend, Paul Peterson; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin and Rose; husband, Ronald; and two brothers, Lyle and Mark Steede.



The visitation will be held on Monday, December 6, 2021, from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and again on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at St. John’s the Baptist Catholic Church, Johnsburg, WI. Funeral service will follow the visitation at church at 11:00 AM. Cremation will follow the service.
