Gary J. Unferth

Gary John Unferth, age 71, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2017, at Hospice Home of Hope. He was born on November 10, 1946, in Fond du Lac, the son of Kenneth “Bud” and Shirley (Rock) Unferth. On July 13, 1996 he married Sharon Launders Zuehlke. Gary worked for over thirty-five years as a carpenter retiring in 1996.



Survivors include his wife Sharon; one son, Richard (Karen) Detert; one step-son, Michael (Carrie) Zuehlke; one sister, Sue (Fred) Ehlers of IA; one brother, Jim (Patty) Unferth of IA; step-brothers and step-sisters, Bruce (Diane) Unferth, Kathy Zwetow, Kim (James) Riendeau, Dean (Bev) Unferth, David Unferth; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Garry Detert; a sister, Paula Nevills.



Per Gary’s wishes there will be no visitation or services. There will be a gathering of family and friends at a later date. Cremation has taken place.
