Gary J. Vandermolen, Jr.

April 21, 1967 — August 26, 2022

Gary J. Vandermolen, Jr., 55, of Fond du Lac, passed away surrounded by love, Friday, August 26, 2022, after a brief and sudden battle with cancer. He was born in Fond du Lac on April 21, 1967.

Gary was an avid seeker of knowledge and always had a thought, a query, or quip to say about everything and anything. He was patient, a natural teacher - lover of the outdoors, reading, music (a Deadhead until the end), movies, and perpetually trying to perfect his golf game. He loved his three girls and granddaughter more than anything, and he looked forward to meeting his second grandbaby who was born in November.

Survivors include his eldest daughter, Abby (Dave), and their daughter, Magnolia and son, Fox; middle daughter, Nash and “grandcats” Duke and Banjo; and youngest daughter, Gage (Jordan). In addition, he is survived by his sister, Brandy (Josh); niece and goddaughter, Skylar (Johnny), and their children, Aubree, and Grayson; nephews, Holden, and Jack; aunt, Roujean (Jerry); cousins, Amanda, and Chad; and best friend of almost forty years, Jim. He was preceded in death by his father and a cousin, Joe Rentmeester.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, April 23, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Lakeside Park West Pavilion in Fond du Lac. Cremation has taken place.

To quote one of his favorite books:

“What is that feeling when you’re driving away from people and they recede on the plain till you see their specks dispersing? – it’s the too huge world vaulting us in, and it’s goodbye. But we lean forward to the next crazy venture beneath the skies.” – On the Road by Jack Kerouac
