Gary L. "Louie" Friess

Gary L. "Louie" Friess, 65, of 77 Wells Street, North Fond du Lac, died Wednesday, April 18, 2007, in Adams County due to injuries sustained in a hunting accident. He was born February 4, 1942, in Fond du Lac, the son of George and Dorothy Dreifuerst Friess. On October 8, 1966, he married Beverly J. Wendt at St. Mary's Church in Fond du Lac. Gary was a member of Church of The Presentation in North Fond du Lac. He was formerly employed by the Soo Line Railroad and Giddings & Lewis as a machinist, retiring in March of 2004. After his retirement, he was employed part-time at Badger State Auto Auction. Gary was a veteran of the US Navy, serving for four years. He was a member of Eagles Aerie #270. He loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.Surviving is his wife, Beverly, a son, Gregory (Mary Kate) Friess of Fond du Lac, a daughter, Jodie (Jay) Erdman of Las Vegas, NV, three grandchildren: Cora Erdman, and Sydney and Quinten Friess, and three brothers: Thomas (Lorna) Friess, Peter (Susan) Friess, both of Fond du Lac, and Michael (Linda) Friess, of Franklin, WI. He is further survived by two brothers-in-law: Arden (Joan) Wendt, and Kenneth (Jean) Wendt, both of Fond du Lac, three sisters-in-law, Janette (Philip) Ruck of Waupun, Judith (Dale) Jefferson of Sun Lakes, AZ, and Diane (Stephen) Strupp of Oakfield, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. His parents and a sister, Mary Jo Friess, preceded him in death.



Visitation for Mr. Gary L. Friess will be on Sunday, April 22, 2007, from 4 to 8 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Family prayers will be on Monday, April 23, at 9:45 am at the funeral home, and Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at Church of The Presentation in North Fond du Lac. The Rev. John Simon will officiate and burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Mr. Friess' name. Additional information and guest book may be found at www.ueckerwitt.com
