Gary L. Pitt

Gary L. Pitt, age 70, of Fond du Lac, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 25, 2023. Gary was born September 28, 1953, in Waukesha, WI, the son of Gilbert and Wanda (Holterman) Pitt. He graduated from L.P. Goodrich High School and then served in the United States Navy. Gary loved being stationed on ships and enjoyed visiting families of his fellow sailors during the downtime. He worked for Mayville Metal for 22 years and then for SMC in Oshkosh. In his youth Gary was part of Golden Gloves Boxing and the Marquis Drum and Bugle Corps.

Gary had a passion for cooking and was famous for his steaks and his 20 lb lasagna. He loved all sweets and desserts and never missed a Coney Dog Tuesday. Gary had many interests and hobbies including music, drumming, pool leagues, the outdoors, old cars, motorcycles, snowmobiling, and fishing. He also enjoyed watching college football, classic movies and auto auctions.

Survivors include one daughter, Amy (Jacob) Scheve; grand pup, Chi Chi; one brother, Bruce (Carol) Pitt; one sister, Lynn (Dan) Possin; friends close to his heart, Lori Pitt, Tom (Kim) Janke, Dar Benson, Dorie (Dave) Howell, Shelly (Blake) Bodart; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister and her husband, Barb and Warren Miller; infant brother, Mark; one nephew, Eric Miller; and many close friends waiting for him.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, December 3, 2023, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place.
