Gavin E. "Red" Dalton, 79, of 40 E. McWilliams Street died Thursday, December 27, 2007. He was born September 30, 1928, in Fond du Lac, the son of Edward and Katherine Reily Dalton. On November 28, 1953, he married Maydine Post at St. Mary's Church in Fond du Lac. Mr. Dalton was a member of Holy Family Parish. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in Europe and Korea from 1946 to 1949, and stateside from 1950 to 1952 after reenlisting in 1950. He was formerly employed by Combined Insurance as head of maintenance for 20 years, retiring in 1997. "Red" was an avid hunter and fisherman. Surviving is his wife, Maydine, a son, Gerald D. (Margaret) Post of St. Nazianz, WI, a daughter-in-law, Judith Dalton of Fond du Lac, eight grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Robert (Kay) Dalton of Pine River, WI. His parents, a son, John Alan, and two brothers, Ronald and John Dalton preceded him in death.
Visitation for Mr. Gavin E. "Red" Dalton will be on Saturday, December 29, 2007, from 1:30 to 3 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Liturgy of the Word for Christian Burial services will be at 3 pm at the funeral home.
