Gene T. Nelson

Gene T. Nelson, age 82, formerly of 744 Wisconsin Avenue, North Fond du Lac, and a resident of the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home since March of 2007 died Thursday, October 4, 2007 at the home. She was born on July 19,1925 in Hooston, Louisiana the daughter of John and Beulah Thomas Tyson. On January 16, 1943 she married Joseph A. Nelson, Sr. at Barksdale Field, Louisiana. Joseph preceded her in death on October 20, 2002. After graduating from high school Gene attended Beauty College for two years. She was employed as a guard with Women's Correctional Institution, Taycheedah , Krambo Meat Packaging, a waitress at Petrie's Restaurant, and was part owner of the Village Beverage Mart, North Fond du Lac. She was a member of Presentation Catholic Church, North Fond du Lac. She enjoyed reading, fishing, old movies, dancing, music, and loved being with her family.She is survived by six children, Mary (Nelson) Kulow, Fond du Lac, Elizabeth (John) Kulow, North Fond du Lac, Phyllis (fiancé Jack Bartley) Mattson, Greenfield, WI, Sharon Nelson, Fond du Lac, Joseph (Sue) Nelson, Jr., Fond du Lac, Ann Marie (Walt) Sinisi, Fond du Lac, 18 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Gene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five sisters, and two brothers.



VISITATION: Friends may call on Friday, October 12, 2007 from 1: 00 to 3:00 P.M. at Presentation Catholic Church, North Fond du Lac. FUNERAL: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:00 P.M. at Presentation Catholic Church, North Fond du Lac with Reverend John Simon officiating.
