Genevieve M. Julka, 89, formerly of N8188 Sunset Drive in St. Peter, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009, at her residence in St. Clare Terrace, Fond du Lac. She was born on February 23, 1920 to Joseph and Gertrude Schneider Julka in St. Peter, WI. On Feb. 25, 1941, she married Bernard A. Julka at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Bernard preceded her in death on August 14, 2003. She was a member of Holy Family Parish-St. Peter's Church and the Christian Mothers. She was a very active participant in the choir at St. Clare Terrace. Genevieve enjoyed reading, playing cards, crossword puzzles, scrabble, and being with her family.Survivors include 10 children, James (Wanda) Julka of Marietta, Ga., Paul (special friend Sharon Berholtz) Julka of St. Peter; Laureen (Bob) Wager of Altamonte Springs, Fla., Lois Haensgen of Fond du Lac, Rosalie (Jim) Neumann of Fond du Lac, Mary (Tom) Bertram of Waukesha, Claire (Paul 'Torch') Keifenheim of Mount Calvary, Tony (Christine) Julka of Fond du Lac, Vivian (Terry) Grube of Sheboygan and Victoria "Vicki' (Robert) Diener of Fond du Lac; 28 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by three sisters, Olga Roehrig and Rita Ciske both of Mt. Calvary, and Priscilla Staab of Mt. Dora, FL. Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Terry Julka, one great-granddaughter, Mollie Claire Koehler, two daughters-in-law, Barb Julka and Kathy Julka, a son-in-law, Bill Haensgen, six brothers, Herman, Ambrose "Jack", Phillip, Herbert, Rudolph, and Edgar Wirtz, and a sister, Stella Hahn.
n Visitation: Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 31, 2009, at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, and from 9:30 to 10:30 am on Tuesday, September 1st at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Highway WH, St. Peter.n Services: Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Genevieve M. Julka will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 1st, at St. Peter's Church, St. Peter. The Rev. Joseph Wolf O.F.M. CAP will officiate and burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
