Genevieve M. "Nana" Barthuly

Genevieve Marie Supple Barthuly, 82, of 11 Cumberlynn Circle, died on Thursday, Family Day, July 28, 2011, at home in the arms of her family. She was born August 5, 1928, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of John and Lucille Andrew Supple. Mrs. Barthuly was a 1946 graduate of L.P. Goodrich High School. On October 14, 1950, she married John A. Barthuly at St. Patrick's Church in Fond du Lac. She was a member of Holy Family Parish-Sacred Heart Church. She was a very active lady, serving as a volunteer for the Daughters of Isabella, and was a very familiar face at the Fond du Lac Booster Club's concession stand. Genevieve also volunteered at the St. Agnes Hospital Gift Shop, and was an integral part of the operations of Shakey's Pizza in Green Bay. She was wife, mentor, mother, grandma, nana, and the matriarch of the Barthuly family. Surviving is her husband, John, four daughters, Jennifer (Jim) McKelvie of Louisville, KY, Catherine (John) Rutlin, Renee (Douglas) Wendt, and Lisa (Mat) Mueller, all of Fond du Lac, a son, John Anthony "Tony" (Helen) Barthuly of Fond du Lac, 11 grandchildren, Shawn (Special Friend, Stefanie) McKelvie, Kevin (Maggie) McKelvie, Kiara Lee, Nicholas Lee, and Caitlin (Fiancé' David Caves) Lee, Jene' Barthuly, John (Special Friend Teale) Barthuly, Tony (Special Friend Theresa), Wendt, Jacalyn (Special Friend Robert) Wendt Cassie (Brock) Rademann, P.J. Mueller, and four great-grandchildren. She is further survived by two sisters, Mary Semenas of North Fond du Lac, and Joan Manowske of Fond du Lac, a brother, John (Dolores) Supple of Oshkosh, and her special buddy, Joe Supple of Oshkosh. Also surviving are five sisters-in-law, Dorothy Zwicky of Oshkosh, Esther and Hermie Burkhardt of Madison, Herbert and Dolores Barthuly of Fond du Lac, wally and Pat Barthuly of Kenosha, and Betty Barthuly of Texas, a cousin, Anna Marie Whealon of Fond du Lac,many special nieces and nephews, and many friends in Eagle River and Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Patrick Shannon McKelvie, a son-in-law, Michael H. Lee, a sister, Catherine Supple Klinzing, and three brothers-in-law, Bernie Klinzing, Alex Semenas, and Paul Manowske. She was also preceded in death by Natalie and Adolf Hunt, Otto and Vivian Barthuly, Alex Barthuly, Henry Barthuly, and Gordy and son, Jeff Zwicky.



Visitation for Genevieve will be on Monday, August 1, 2011, from 4 to 8 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, and again on Tuesday, August 2nd from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at Holy Family Church, 271 4th Street Way, Fond du Lac. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM at the church. Entombment of cremated remains will be in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum. A memorial has been established in Genevieve's name.
