G. Sylvia Schufletowski, 87 formerly of Tomahawk, and resident of Fond du Lac Lutheran since June 2003 died Thursday, January 18,2007 at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home. She was born in Wabeno, Wisconsin on January 15, 1920 the daughter of William and Ruby V. Baker Hughes. On August 4,1936 she married Elmer "E.J." J. Schufletowski in Waukegan, IL. Sylvia was a nurse's aid in the maternity wards of St. Luke's Hospital, Milwaukee and Burlington Memorial Hospital, Burlington, WI. Sylvia enjoyed work and her grandchildren.Survivors include two daughters, Leah (Howard) Miller, Fond du Lac, and Elinor (Ralph) Johnson, Whitewater, 13 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grand children. She is further survived by her brother, Robert Hughes, Columbus, two sisters, Catherine Knutsen, Burlington, and Rena Hughes, Beaver Dam, five half-sisters, Darlene (Larry) McGhee, Decatur, AL, Marlene (Peter) Moruzzi, New Lenox, IL, Connie (Bernie) Hilgart, Park Falls, Gerri (Bob) Dennis, Beecher, IL Jacki (Jerry) Reinhardt, Rice Lake. She is further survived by nieces and nephews.. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather and mother, L.O. Smith and Grace Hughes, her husband, two infant sons, Terrance and Alan, a brother, William Hughes.
Visitation will be Monday, January 22, 2007 from 12:30 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 22, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. with. Reverend Dean Desilet officiating. Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, Town of Bradley, Lincoln County in the spring.Memorials appreciated to Log Church, Tripoli, WI or the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
