George D. Albrecht, 72, of 116 W. Midway Street, Rosendale, died Tuesday, October 10, 2006, at Waupun Memorial Hospital in Waupun. He was born October 13, 1933, in the Town of Friendship, the son of George H. and Gertrude Weber Albrecht. On June 9, 1956, he married Marilyn J. Miller at Peace Lutheran Church in Rosendale. Mr. Albrecht was a graduate of Rosendale High School and was a veteran of the US Army, serving in Korea from 1956 to 1958. He had been employed at Damrow Brothers, the Rosendale-Brandon School District, and the Green Giant Canning Factory of Rosendale. For 15 years, he was Director of Environmental Services at Waupun Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1996. After retirement, he worked part time at the Aurora Medical Center in Fond du Lac. He was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Rogersville, and the Wisconsin Hospital Engineering Association. He loved spending time with his dog, "Princess." George enjoyed working with his hands, the mechanical/electrical knowledge of boilers, and spending time at the lake fishing and relaxing.Surviving is his wife, Marilyn, of Rosendale, two sons; Rev. Tim (Lori) Albrecht of Kaukauna, and Todd (Sally) Albrecht of Ripon, five grandchildren, Carter, Haylee, Devin, Gina, and Marissa, a sister, Loretta Miller, of Ripon, and one brother, Marvin Albrecht, of Rosendale. He is further survived by brother and sisters-in-law, Arlene Albrecht of Eldorado, Elaine Schumacher of Van Dyne, Bob (Marilyn) Miller of Rosendale, Eugene (Irene) Miller of Ripon, and Julie (Tom) Stellmacher of Ripon. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. His parents, a sister, Eldora Giese, two brothers, Roland and Orlen Albrecht, an infant brother, Raymond, two brothers-in-law, Marvin Miller and Alvin Giese, and a sister-in-law, Mae Albrecht, preceded him in death.
Visitation for Mr. George D. Albrecht will be on Thursday, October 12, 2006, from 4 to 8 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, and on Friday, October 13, 2006, from 10 to 11 am at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Rogersville. Funeral services will be at 11 am on Friday at the church. The Rev. Kimberly Stowell will officiate and burial will be in the Rosendale Cemetery.
