George Kaprelian, 91, of Fond du Lac, died Friday, November 15, 2024, at the St. Francis home in Fond du Lac. He was born on November 30, 1932, in South Milwaukee, the son of Harry and Myranee Kaprelian. After graduation George served in the US Army in Korea from 1950-1952. On October 25, 1958, he married Rose Janikowski. George’s passion for photography landed him a job at Mercury Marine as a commercial photographer for 25 years.
George loved being surrounded by his family and friends. He was a snow bird traveling to Florida to spend time in the sun. He traveled the world taking beautiful pictures of outdoor marine equipment. George also spent years perfecting many images of the Lakeside Park Light House. He was always teased about being a famous photographer from Fond du Lac, but he was modest in just saying “I love what I do.” Being a proud patriot, George enjoyed spending time at the VFW with the other vets marching in all the special holiday parades followed by eating a brat and drinking a beer. He was selected to go to Washington on the Honor Flight with his son Jeff. Most of all George loved his family and instilled in his children strong values that have served them well. He will be greatly missed and will be forever in our hearts.
He is survived by his children, Brian (Tamie) Kaprelian, Jeff (Sue) Kaprelian, and Kathy and Beth Scafordi; sister-in-law, Clara Westhause; grandchildren, Kelsey (Mike) Brusso; Ben (Jordan) Kaprelian and Abbey Kaprelian; great-grandchildren, Capri, Siena and Bella Brusso. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose.
The visitation will be held Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 12:00 PM. Cremation has taken place.
