George M. Bera

GEORGE M. BERAGeorge M. Bera, age 85, a resident of Harbor Haven Nursing Home, 459 E. 1st St., Fond du Lac, for the last five and a half years, died Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born on April 27, 1919 in Antigo the son of John and Margaret Prasalowicz Bera. On February 11, 1939 he married Mabel Beimborn in Antigo. She preceded him in death on November 15, 1976. He was in the United States Navy serving in World War II. George was employed in the engineering department as a machine operator at Soo Line Railroad. SURVIVORS: ten children, Sandra (Charles) Kilmer of Fond du Lac, Karen (Norbert) Jurgensmier of St. Cloud, George (Carol) Bera of Fond du Lac, Robert (LaQuita) Bera of Fond du Lac, Lynne Upson of Saukville, Jack (Marge) Bera of Fond du Lac, Barb (David) Binnebose of Fond du Lac, Janet Klintworth of Fond du Lac, Pam Bera, Gale (Jim) DuFrane of Fond du Lac, one daughter in law, Candy Bera of Menasha, twenty three grandchildren, twenty seven great-grandchildren, two brothers, Edward Bera of Wausau, Leo Bera of Antigo, two sisters, Martha Stasek of Antigo, Verna (Frank) Chervenka of Antigo, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mabel, two sons, infant Kevin, and Brian Bera on April 29, 2004, one grandson, and one great grand-daughter, seven brothers, Peter, Anton, Joe, James, Frank, Raymond, Karl, one sister, Agnes Bera.



VISITATION: Saturday, January 8, 2005 from 9-11 A.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. FUNERAL: Saturday, January 8, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home with the Reverend David Lieske officiating. Burial will follow at Estabrooks Cemetery. American Legion Trier-Puddy Post #75 will conduct military graveside services. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff and nurses at Harbor Haven Nursing Home for their care and compassion.Memorials are appreciated to Hope Lutheran Church. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is serving the family.
