Gerald A. Pierce, 67 of North Fond du Lac, died Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Hospice Home of Hope after a six month battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born November 20, 1946 in Wisconsin Rapids, the son of Percy and Marion Nitkowski Pierce. On January 25, 1975 he married Joyce J. Henke in Fort Carson, CO. Gerald served in the US Army from 1972 – 1979. He drove semi truck for Badger Mining in Fairwater, Badger Federal in Oshkosh and most recently Road Ready Transfer in Wausau. He was a member of Rosendale VFW Post 10195. Gerald enjoyed woodworking, hunting and was a very active member of Buckskinner’s Rendezvous. Most important to Gerald was spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; three children, Michelle Pierce, Tommy (Alyssa) Pierce, and Shawn (Candace) Pierce, all of Fond du Lac; four grandchildren, Marcus Johnson, Morgan Johnson, Echo Pierce, and Evelynn Pierce; one great grandson, Emerson Johnson; two brothers, David (Julie) Pierce, Phoenix, AZ and Robert (Rose) Pierce, Wisconsin Dells, WI; his brother in arms, Thomas (Nancy) Oder, Fort Worth, TX. He is further survived by his mother-in-law, Margaret Henke, Markesan; two brothers-in-law, Stanley Henke and Stephen (Jesse) Henke, both of Markesan; one sister-in-law, Shirley Henke, Fox Lake; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Harvey Henke, Sr.; two brothers-in-law, Harvey (Sue) Henke, Jr. and William (Rose) Henke; aunts and uncles.
The visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, November 21, 2014 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Avenue, Fond du Lac, WI and again on Saturday from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Witt officiating. Burial will follow in Rosendale Cemetery.
