Gerald J. Gross

Gerald J. Gross, age 84, of Fond du Lac, died Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at his residence. He was born on February 15, 1933, the son of Harold and Winifred Gross. Gerald served in the United States Army in the Korean War and was in the Army Reserves for eighteen years. On April 18, 1953 he married Joyce Blatz in Fond du Lac. Gerald was a mason, working for Rosenthal Construction, Hutter Construction, CD Smith, and for the State of Wisconsin at Waupun Correctional. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion and he enjoyed deer hunting and traveling to Branson. Most of all Gerald enjoyed going up north to his cabin in Florence.



Survivors include his wife Joyce of Fond du Lac; four children, Bruce Gross of Hiawassee, GA, Brenda Krist of Madison, Brian (Roman Berdes) Gross of Orion, MI, and Barb (Dennis) Winkler of Mt. Calvary; grandchildren, William Gross, Amanda (Dayne) Maust, Rebecca (Cameron) Heise, Carrie (Tyler Ellis) Krist, Jennifer (Nathan) Brandt, Adam (Shannon) Winkler, Samantha (Nathan Graham) Winkler, Joseph Winkler, Valentina Winkler; four great-grandchildren, Carter and Ava Brandt, Aiden and Eli Winkler; his brother, Bruce Boudry; two sisters, Joyce (Geno) Iussig and Mary (Dave) Voris; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Donna (Tom) Webb, Gloria (Gerald) Schumacher, Jean Norenberg, and John Blatz; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Eugene.



Visitation will take place on Friday, February, 2, 2018 from 10:00 AM until 12 noon at Sacred Heart Church-Holy Family, 200 S. Peters Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at the church at 12 noon. Entombment will follow the service at Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery.
