Gerald R. Zarling

Gerald R. ZarlingGerald R. Zarling, 70, of 12 Riverside Ct. in Fond du Lac died Monday, October 11, 2004 at St. Agnes Hospital. Gerald was born August 9, 1934 in Milwaukee, a son of Henry and Elizabeth Milbrath Zarling. Gerald was baptized and confirmed at Siloah Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. On June 25, 1960 he married Aurelia L. Volkmann at David's Star Lutheran Church in Jackson, WI. Gerald was a graduate of West Bend High School and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He worked for Mercury Marine for 38 years, retiring in 1991. He was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, where he sang in the church choir and was a member of the Board of Elders. Gerald loved music and spending time with his family.Survivors include his wife; Aurelia of Fond du Lac, one daughter; Patti Ann Zarling of DePere, two sisters; Audrey (Ladislaus) Matchey of Independence, WI, Barbara (Rev. Delmer) Kannenberg of Hartford, one sister-in-law; Lenore (Elmer) Kloehn of Cedarburg, and many nieces, nephews, friends, and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents.



Visitation for Mr. Zarling will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 2004 at Redeemer Lutheran Church from 5-7 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 2004 at 7:00 P.M. at Redeemer Lutheran Church with the Rev. Nathan Retzlaff officiating. Entombment will follow on Thursday at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum. Memorials in Gerald's name may be directed to Winnebago Lutheran Academy or to Redeemer Lutheran Church.
