Gerald W. Schmitt

Gerald W. Schmitt, age 73, of Mt. Calvary, died Friday, October 14, 2011 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born on February 4, 1938 in Mt. Calvary, the son of Leo and Angeline (Rieder) Schmitt. On June 23, 1956 he married Marlene Sitzwohl in Mt. Calvary. Jerry served in the United States Air Force for twenty years. After retiring from the Air Force he worked for eighteen years at Wisconsin Power & Light. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.SURVIVORS: his wife, Marlene, three children, Steve (Debi) Schmitt of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Jenny (Jerome) Steffes of Fond du Lac, Bradley Schmitt of Defuniak Springs, FL, four grandchildren, Chrystal (Jason) Vickers of Crestview, FL, Heather Schmitt of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Carley Steffes of Fond du Lac, Holley Steffes of Fond du Lac, three great-grandchildren, Devon Estep, Breylon Seay, Taylor Vickers, brothers and sisters, Geraldine (John) Perry of Elm Grove, WI, Joe (Jean) Schmitt of Fond du Lac, Diane (Joel) Sonnenburg of Pine River, WI, Bernard (Janet) Schmitt of Elkhart Lake, WI, Katy (Brian) Koepke of Fond du Lac, Audrey (Joe) Sesing of Mt. Calvary, Linda (Don) Whitby of Malone, Pam (Mike) Mand of St. Peter, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Rodney Schmitt, one brother, Leo Schmitt Jr, and an infant sister, Donna.



VISITATION: Wednesday, October 19, 2011 from 5-6 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac. MEMORIAL SERVICE: Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 6:00 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home.
