Gertrud S. Reiher

Gertrud S. Reiher, 85, of 357 18th Street, Fond du Lac, died Saturday, August 12, 2006, at her residence. She was born the daughter of Ludwig and Marie Weiss Marks on November 1, 1920 in Blomnin, East Prussia. On April 16, 1949 Gertrud married Franz E. Reiher in Jarplund, Germany. In July of 1953 Gertrude, Franz and their son Werner immigrated to America. She worked at Wells Manufacturing for 29 years. Gertrud loved helping people, she was a great friend to many and a good listener. Her greatest joy was her family, flowers and good cooking. We will miss her twinkly smile and warm hugs.SURVIVORS: her husband, Franz; one son, Werner (Pat) Reiher, Fond du Lac; two granddaughters, Nicole (Denver) Gilliand, Minneapolis, MN and Heidi Reiher, Honolulu, HI; three great grandchildren, Hailee, Mason and Kiya Gilliand; one brother, Paul (Gisela) Marks, Germany; and nieces, nephews and other relatives in Germany. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and seven brothers.



VISITATION: will be from 12-2 PM on Thursday, August 17, 2006 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2 PM at the funeral home with entombment to follow at Ledgeview Memorial Park, Shrine of Rest Mausoleum.In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated to St. Agnes Hospice.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
