Gertrude M. "Gert" Gilmore

Gertrude M. "Gert" Gilmore, 87, formerly of 365 E. Arndt Street, died Tuesday, August 9, 2005, at Grancare Nursing Home, where she had been a resident for the past five years. She was born March 6, 1918, in Fond du Lac, a daughter of Ernest and Minnie Heruth Bohlman. On June 12, 1938, she married Orville E. Gilmore in Fond du Lac. He preceded her in death in January of 1999. She was a member of Immanuel Trinity Lutheran Church. Gert and her husband owned and operated Gilmore's Liquor Mart and Gilmore's Parcel Delivery. She enjoyed bowling and for many years was Treasurer of the Women's Bowling Association, was a member of the Women's 600 Club and conducted its tournament, and belonged to the Whispering Springs Ladies Golf League on Tuesday. She enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and bingo. Surviving is a son, Dan (Phyllis) Gilmore of Waukesha, a daughter, Sandra (Robert) Zickau of Sun City West, AZ, six grandchildren, Robin (Jeff) Willms of Waukesha, Michael (Pam) Gilmore of Muskego, WI, Andrew (Vonessa) Gilmore of Watertown, WI, Steven Zickau of Arizona, Susan (Kelly) Beale of Kokomo, IN, and David Zickau of Bermuda Dunes, CA, eight great-grandchildren, Ryan, Leah, Alex, Brady, Alex, Sam, Jake, and Max. She is further survived by a sister, Elaine (Bill) Friess of Fond du Lac, three sisters-in-law, Joy Failor of Ripon, Millie Gilmore of Los Fresno, TX, and Germaine Gilmore of Fond du Lac. Also surviving are other relatives and many friends. Her parents, husband, a sister, Helen Pickart, and two infant sisters preceded her in death.



Visitation for Mrs. Gertrude M. "Gert" Gilmore will be on Thursday, August 25, 2005, from 2:30 to 4:30 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 4:30 pm on Thursday at the funeral home. The Rev. Douglas Hedman will officiate and burial will be in Estabrooks Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Gert's name.
