Gilbert I. Weigelt

Gilbert I. "Gib" Weigelt, 77, of N7960 Lakeview, Town of Friendship, died Saturday, April 09, 2011, at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born on August 25, 1933, in Oshkosh, the son of Herman and Lena Radtke Weigelt. On May 25, 1957, he married Lois Adams at Church of Our Saviour Evangelical Lutheran Church by Rev. B.J. Stecker. He was formerly employed by Badger Liquor from 1968 to 1993 as a salesman. After retirement, he was employed by the YMCA Day Care and Johnson School Bus Company. He also did volunteer work in the Tech-Ed Department of Theisen Middle School. He was inducted into the 2002 Fond du Lac Softball Hall of Fame, and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and enjoyed spending time at his cottage at Mountain, WI. Surviving is his wife, Lois, two daughters, Suzanne Dammen of Beloit, WI, and Nancy (Joe) Becker of Fond du Lac, three grandsons, Tyler Martin, Adam and Cody Becker, and two granddaughters, Heather and Shannon Lawrence. He is further survived by a brother, Eugene (Beaty) Weigelt of Mountain, WI. His parents and a daughter, Anita Moore preceded him in death.



Visitation for Gilbert I. "Gib" Weigelt will be on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, from 1 to 3 PM at Church of Our Saviour Evangelical Lutheran, 363 S. Main Street, Fond du Lac. Memorial services will be at 3 PM at the church on Tuesday. Reverend Robert Rosenberg and Pastor Jeff Blain will officiate. Cremation has taken place. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family requests that memorials be directed to the Fond du Lac City Police Canine Fund, 126 N. Main Street, Fond du Lac, WI 54935.
