Gisela A. Konen, 72, of Fond du Lac, died Monday, December 16, 2013 at St. Agnes Hospital. She was born January 23, 1941 in Bernhagen, Germany, the daughter of Franz and Erna Hannemann Tolzmann. Gisela married Gordon Krueger and later married James J. Konen on August 5, 1999 in Fond du Lac. She worked as a baker at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home for 20 years, retiring in 2009. She was a member of Immanuel -Trinity Lutheran Church. Gisela enjoyed crafts, knitting, gardening, spending time up North, going to casinos, and music. She is survived by her husband, James Konen, Fond du Lac; six children, Shirley Krueger, Fond du Lac, Carrie (Dale) Skovera, Appleton, Christine Krueger, Florida, Sharon (Terry) Marschall, Waunakee, Gregory Krueger (Shane), Greenville, and Glen (Robin) Krueger, Fond du Lac; seven grandchildren, Bruce Skovera, Amanda (Nate)Fehrman, Katrina Skovera, Ryan Marschall, Alexa Marschall, Mitchell Krueger, and Alex Krueger; one sister, Renate (Gary) Schaumburg, Mayville; two brothers-in-law, Dick Kunasch, Fond du Lac and Mike Konen, Fond du Lac; one sister-in-law, Joyce (Mark) Adelman, Fond du Lac; nieces and nephews, Linda Breister, Lorrie Crego, Michelle Lofy, Emilie Schaumburg, Will Schaumburg, and relatives in Germany and South Africa. She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant brother; one sister, Karin Kunasch.
The visitation will be held from 4:00 "“ 7:00 PM on Friday, December 20, 2013 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home with Rev. David Redman officiating. Cremation has taken place with inurnment in Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
