Gladys H. Freund

Gladys H. Freund, 89, of Fond du Lac, died Monday, November 15, 2021, at Crossroads Care Center of Fond du Lac. She was born on August 18, 1932, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Arthur and Adella (Wagner) Koenigs. On July 17, 1954, she married Alex Freund at St. Marys Church in Fond du Lac. Gladys worked for the Soo Line and CN Railroad for 24 years and retired in 1994. She loved to collect hummels, plant roses and peonies in her flower beds, go gambling, and play sheepshead at Christmas time.



She is survived by three grandchildren, Heather (James) Carter, Christopher Freund, and Ashley (Anthony) Meier; two great grandchildren, Auri Meier and Daniel Carter; brother, Richard Koenigs; daughter-in-law, Suzanne Freund; as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Adella; husband, Alex; two sons, Thomas and Gerald Freund; sister, Virginia Schraven; and granddaughter, Tiffany Freund.



The visitation will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021, from 3:00 – 4:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Liturgy of the Word will follow the visitation at 4:00 PM at the funeral home. Entombment will be held on Monday, November 22, 2021, at Chapel of the Risen Christ, Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery at 2:30 PM.
