Gladys I. Albrecht

Gladys I. Albrecht, age 91, a resident of Simi Valley, CA passed away peacefully on March 1, 2011 in Simi Valley, CA Hospital. She was born on November 3, 1919 in Rosendale, WI, a daughter of Theodore and Ida (Zeto) Rickert. On November 15, 1941 she married Norman Albrecht at Peace Lutheran Church in Rosendale. He preceded her in death on August 12, 1980. Gladys worked at the Rosendale Post Office, Standard Kohlsman, and Mercury Marine. She had been a member at St. John's Lutheran Church in the Town of Nekimi, where she was a member of Esther Circle, was treasurer of the ELCA Women, and also was a circle chair person.In 1990 Gladys moved to California to live with her daughter Marjorie. There she was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Burbank, CA, where she was a member of the Rebecca Circle. She was also a member of the Simi Valley Women's Club, a charity organization in Simi Valley.In her early years, Gladys enjoyed making and decorating cakes for weddings and special occasions. She was a skilled quilter, making quilts for various charities. In California, she loved cooking and hosting many dinner parties for her friends and family. Gladys was a skilled crafter and showcased many of her creations in crafts shows in California throughout the last twenty years. SURVIVORS: her daughter, Marjorie Albrecht-Hass of Simi Valley, CA, one niece, Marilyn (Larry) Klabunde of Oshkosh, two nephews, Raymond (Linda) Rickert Jr. of Hilbert, WI, Marlon Bearwald, two great nephews, Tom Klabunde of Oshkosh, and Darin (Rae) Rickert of Racine, one great niece, Christal Piepiora of Chilton, bonus grandchildren, Candy Hass and Robby Hass both of Fond du Lac, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Norman, a sister, Dorothy (Harvey) James, a brother, Raymond (Delores) Rickert, a son in law, Ronald Hass, a sister in law, Hilda Bearwald.



VISITATION: Sunday, March 6, 2011 from 5-7:30 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac. FUNERAL: Monday, March 7, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 491 Old Oregon Rd, Nekimi with the Reverend James Reiff officiating. Visitation will take place on Monday at the Church from 1:00 P.M. until the time of services.
