Glenn E. Ninneman

January 30, 1930 — October 27, 2017

Glenn E. Ninneman, 87, of Van Dyne, went to meet his Lord and Savior on October 27, 2017. He

was born January 30, 1930 in Brandon, Wisconsin, the son of Frederic and Leona Jaeger Ninneman.

He served in the Army at Fort Bliss, Texas from 1951 to 1953. While there he married Lois Patt on

September 29, 1951, at Fort Bliss Chapel in Texas. They were blessed with 66 years of marriage. He

was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church at Nekimi, Oshkosh.



Glenn worked at Mercury Marine for 42 years before retiring in December of 1990. He was a

machinist in Plant 4 for 25 years, and a guided equipment maintenance technician in Plant 3. Glenn

was a sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and sturgeon spearing along the west shore of Lake

Winnebago. Glenn especially enjoyed his time on Lake Winnebago catching walleyes with his family.



He taught hunter safety in Fond du Lac for 25 years, which included one of the first classes in the state. Glenn was a founding member, past president and treasurer of the Van Dyne Sportsman's Club. He assisted in purchasing and moving an outdated schoolhouse to the grounds, which served as their

clubhouse for many years. He was then involved with building the trapshoot bunkers and current

clubhouse. Glenn was a past president of the Winnebagoland Conservation Alliance and a past director and treasurer of Sturgeon for Tomorrow SW Chapter and Ducks Unlimited. He was also a member of Local lodge 1947 Mercury Marine retirees and the Eagles Club. He enjoyed bowling in the senior Leagues in Fond du Lac.



Those Glenn leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Lois, and their five children: Beth (Steve) Mikle of Merrill; Gary (Phyllis) Ninneman of North Fond du Lac; Kay (Steve) Kohlman of Fond du Lac; Jean (Tim) Lynch of Eldorado; Todd (Tammy) Ninneman of North Fond du Lac. He's also survived by 14 grandchildren: Angela Wells, Kaleena Matzke, Sarah Mikle, Nate Mikle, John Nett III, Matthew Ninneman, Laura and Andrea Kohlman, Megan Abel, John and Logan Lynch, Jacob, Mark and Erick Ninneman; and 12 great-grandchildren: Stevie and Emersyn Wells, Ara Mikle, Ramsey, Liam, Max and Sophia Nett, Lucas, Jayce and Dane Ninneman, Alex Kohlman, and Solomon Abel.

Also surviving are one brother and his wife, Dale and Helen Ninneman of Pennsylvania, and two

sisters-in-law, Helen Ninneman of North Fond du Lac and Marie Ninneman of Shawano. He was

preceded in death by his parents, and siblings: Dorothy Hilke, Fred (Marion) Ninneman, Shirley

(Ralph) Leemon, Gordon Ninneman, Ray Ninneman, Carol Lacquey, and Lois Ann (Al) Frye.



The visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 491 Old Oregon Road, Oshkosh, WI, with Rev. James Reiff officiating. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held from 10-11:00 prior to the funeral service at the church. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery.



In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Glenn's name. The family extends a special thank you to the staff at St. Agnes Hospital, Harbor Haven Nursing Home, and Agnesian Hospice for the care and compassion shown to Glenn and his family the last few months.
