Gloria I. Thelke

Gloria I. Thelke, 79, of North Fond du Lac, died Sunday, February 28, 2021 at St. Agnes Hospital. She was born September 3, 1941, the daughter of William and Sarah (Miller) Samuel in Drake, North Dakota. Gloria graduated from Horce Mann High School, North Fond du Lac, in 1959. On May 17, 1963 she married Richard Thelke. She went on to college and became an LPN for St. Agnes Hospital from 1964 until her retirement on November 7, 2008. Gloria was a lifetime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, North Fond du Lac. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren, helping them with their activities and homework. Gloria loved to read, garden, camp at Evergreen Campsite in Wild Rose, do word searches and was a daily watcher of The Young and the Restless.



She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Hilbert-Thelke; two grandchildren, Richard Jared “RJ” William Thelke and Samantha Rochelle Hilbert; three sisters-in-law, Ruth Ann (David) Loppnow, Jeanie (Roland) Thelke and Bonnie (Robert) Thelke; nieces and nephews; special family friends, “Son” Kevin Wolfe and his daughter, Natalie, “Daughter” and special friend, Bubba Sue Spang, Stacy Warner, and many other dear friends who she considered family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; daughter, Rochelle Thelke; and sister, Karen Riehl.



The visitation will be held from 11:00 – 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 North Park Avenue, Fond du Lac. The funeral service held at 2:00 PM following the visitation at the funeral home. Burial will take place at on Monday, March 8, 2021 at 1:00 PM in Ledgeview Memorial Park.
