Gordon “Gordy” R. Docter, 77, of Fond du Lac, Wis, died on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Habor Haven Health & Rehabilitation Center. Gordon was born February 20, 1938 in Waupun, Wis to Arthur Salem and Grace Mary (Strong) Docter. He married Sandra J. Lapine on October 10, 1959 at St. Louis Church in Fond du Lac. Gordon and Sandy owned and operated Dr. Joe’s Bar and Beverage Mart for five years with their good friends, Joe and Gerry Luttenberger. He was also an employee of Mercury Marine for 38 years. Gordy belonged to the Knights of Columbus Council #664 and the Eagles Aerie #270, both of Fond du Lac. Gordon was a kind and loving husband; a wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather; and a good friend to many.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy; his three children, Bob (Judy) Docter of Menasha, Vicki (Steve) Gall of Cedarburg, and Mike (Amy) Docter of Fond du Lac; six grandchildren, Marty (Erin) Docter, Harrison Gall, Simon Gall, Ashley (Greg) Schauer, Emily (fiancé Josh Parker) Docter, and Aaron Docter; and two great-grandchildren, Skylar Blau and Peyton Schauer. He is further survived by his brothers; James (Marie) Docter and Joe (Sandy) Docter; his sister, Evelyn (Butch) Berndt; his brother-in-law, Larry (Judy) Lapine; and his sister-in-law, Marlene Teletzke. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Beverly Nigbor and Rosemary Raymond; his brother, Arthur; his sister-in-laws, Mary Kerhmeyer; Lavon Frank and his three brothers-in-law, Hubert Raymond, Clifford Teletzke and Don Frank.
Visitation for Gordon will be held Sunday, July 26, 2015 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, July 27, 2015 at 10:00 AM, Holy Family Church, 271 4th Street Way in Fond du Lac. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass. Entombment will follow the service at Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery, 686 Fond du Lac Ave. in Fond du Lac.
