Gregory M. Cullinan, 76, died Monday, August 8, 2016 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born in Detroit, Mich. on June 5, 1940 to George and Elmira (Filbrandt) Cullinan.
From 1959 – 1963, Gregory served as an electrician in the U.S. Navy. His last assignment was aboard the USS Carpenter (DD-825). He was awarded the Navy’s Good Conduct Medal and received an honorable discharge in June of 1963. Gregory then moved to Milwaukee, serving 15 years as a Police Officer for the city, obtaining an associate’s degree in Police Science. He continued his career in law enforcement, retiring in 1984. Later on, he became a truck driver, retiring in 2005. He loved fishing, the History Channel and chocolate. Most importantly, he loved his family.
Survivors include his six children; Randy, Kathlene Cullinan, Michael (Brenda), Charlene (Henry) Manderscheid, Gregory W., and Marlene Cullinan; ten grandchildren, Nicholas (Gina), Bailey (Charles), Courtney (Robert), Shelby (Tim), Joshua (Nikole), Adrian, Taylor, Kyle, Wyatt and Noah; nine great-grandchildren, Ella, Nicholas, Riley, Carter, Brock, Maci, Ella Rae, Ryder and Sawyer; one brother, Robert; and the mother of his children, Betty Perry. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Patricia McKnight.
VISITATION will be held at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home on Thursday, August 11, 2016 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Gregory requested that there not be a funeral service. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery on Friday, August 12, 2016 at 10:00 AM with military honors presented by the American Legion, Trier-Puddy Post #75.
