Guy F. Freeman, 94, formerly of W5251 Garden Drive, Fond du Lac, and currently of 519 Luco Road, died at his residence on Friday, October 22, 2010. He was born April 2, 1916, the son of Henry and Rose LeMieux Freeman. On May 17, 1947, he married Isabelle R. "Issy" Rushesky at St. Josephat Catholic Church in Oshkosh, She preceded him in death on July 29, 2005. Guy was a past member of St. Louis Church where he was a charter member of the parish council, and a current member of Holy Family Parish. He was a veteran of WW II from 1942 to 1945, serving with the US Navy's Fast Carrier Task Force where he received nine battle stars and a unit commendation. He had worked for the US Postal Service for over 30 years. He was a member of the Fond du Lac Bowling Hall of Fame, being inducted in 1984. He was a member of Trier-Puddy American Legion Post #75, Elks Lodge #57, and Knights of Columbus Council #664. Surviving is a son, Mark, of Madison, a sister-in-law, Paula (Ray) Commo of Fond du Lac, and a brother-in-law, Ralph Rushesky of Oshkosh. Guy's parents, wife, and brothers Reed and Lloyd preceded him in death.
Visitation for Guy F. Freeman will be on Tuesday, October 26, 2010, from 9:30 AM to 11 AM at St. Peter Catholic Church, St. Peter. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Tuesday at the church. The Reverend Victor Capriolo will officiate and burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
