Harold R. Scherer

Harold R. Scherer, age 84, died Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born on May 15, 1926 in Fond du Lac, the son of Henry and Anna (Nelson) Scherer. He served in the United States Army from 1946-47 as a MP and Corporal Cook. On July 14, 1949 he married Delaine Hempel at St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac. Harold worked at Combination Door, and was Park Manager for Steenberg Homes for twenty-five years until retirement. SURVIVORS: his wife, Delaine, brother, Henry (Harriet) Nelson Jr. of Thousand Oaks, CA, niece, Nancy (Harold) Sauerbrei of Markesan, and other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, and one sister.



VISITATION: Monday, April 4, 2011 from 10-11 A.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac. FUNERAL: Monday, April 4, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home with the Reverend Robert Rosenberg officiating. Burial will follow at Ledgeview Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to the family.
