Harriet C. Gabel

Harriet C. Gabel, 94, of Fond du Lac, went to be with her heavenly father on Sunday, November 1, 2015. Harriet was born July 21, 1921 in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Leo and Christina Enders Vogds. She graduated from Goodrich High School in 1939. Following graduation she began working at Infant Socks where she was employed for 24 years. On July 1, 1944 she married Roland Gabel at St. Louis Church in Fond du Lac. In her younger years, Harriet loved planting her vegetable gardens and canning the results of her labor. She never missed a chance to fish on Lake Winnebago with her husband. Family and friends enjoyed her great fish fries, Thanksgiving dinners, fabulous Christmas goodies and delicious peach pies.



She is survived by one son, P. Thomas (Kay) Gabel of Fond du Lac; two grandchildren, Mary (Brad) Ward of Washington, IA and Jeffrey Gabel of Fond du Lac; three great grandchildren, Kayla (Rob) Egli of Des Moines, IA, Megan (Landon) Miller of Lincoln, NE and David Ward of Lakewood, CO; one great great granddaughter, Emelia Egli; one sister-in-law, Gertrude Vogds of Fond du Lac; two special nieces, Mary Vogds of Fond du Lac and Nancy Curry of Madison; other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her in laws; her husband; six brothers, Robert, Harvey (Laverne), Wallace (Liela), Walter (Helen), Norman, and Eugene (Vera) Vogds; one nephew, Dan Vogds.



The visitation will be held from 9:30 – 11:00 am on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Sacred Heart Church.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
