Harry D. Miller, of 583 E. Bank Street, died Saturday, December 5, 2009, at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home. He was born June 18, 1917, in Lamartine, the son of Henry E. and Annabelle Sorenson Miller. On March 1, 1941, he married Dorothy E. Kobs at Dubuque, IA. She preceded him in death on April 23, 2006. A lifelong resident of Fond du Lac, Harry was a member of Church of Our Savior, Evangelical Lutheran, and a former member of the Noon Optimist Club. In his younger days, he enjoyed duck hunting and playing baseball. He enjoyed traveling throughout his life. Harry owned and operated Miller's Tavern for 45 years, retiring in 1988. Surviving are two daughters, Barbara (John) Rickert of Casper, WY, and Amy Kunde of Fond du Lac, four grandchildren, John Rickert of Billings, MT Peter Rickert of Casper, WY, Eric (Kathleen) Fuller of Madison, WI, and Joey Kunde of Fond du Lac, and six great-grandchildren, Alex, Andy, Danielle, Nathan, Piper, and Avry. A brother, Bob of Fond du Lac, two sisters-in-law, Dolores Squire of Muskego, WI, and Ellen Kobs of Adams, WI, and other relatives and friends further survive him. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a son, Richard, two sister, Jeanette Kobs, and Lila Norenberg, a brother, Raymond, and infant brother, Loyal, four sisters-in-law, Ramona Miller, Delphine Miller, Elaine Kumatzske, and Betty Chapman, and four brothers-in-law, Jule Kobs, Eugene Kobs, Theodore Kobs, and Roger Kobs.
Visitation for Mr. Harry D. Miller will be on Saturday, December 12, 2009, from 9:00 to 11:00 Am at Church of Our Saviour Evangelical Lutheran, 363 S. Main Street, Fond du Lac. Memorial services will be at 11 am at the church on Saturday. The Rev. William Gruenstern will officiate. Cremation has taken place. Inurnment services will follow at Estabrooks Cemetery. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is serving the family. A memorial has been established in Mr. Miller's name.
