Harvey Dennis Groll, 70, of Fond du Lac, entered his eternal rest on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born on February 13, 1951, in Evergreen Park, IL, the son of Harvey and Dorothy (Littlefield) Groll. He graduated from Harlem High School in 1969. He moved to Woodhull, WI, in 1973 and met and married Joy Lynn Heinz on April 13, 1974. They were happily married for 47 years. He was dad to Steven (Tiffany) of Michigan, Shannon (Roger) Gill of Ohio, Matthew (Josilyn) of Racine, Justin (Jen) of La Crescent, MN, Joseph (Holly) of North Fond du Lac, Stephanie (Dave) Waldvogel and Lindsay of Fond du Lac. He was Bumpa to Devin, Brooklyn, Katelyn (CJ) Reno, Rogie (Renee) Gill, Sis, Madyson, Sammy, Joey, Ky Ky, Jordan, Conman, Cam, Emma, Lucas, Zippy, Lyd, Molly, Soph, Vegal, and Harpy. Great Bumpa to Dean, Annalise, Lily, and Brantlee.
Dennis worked at Metalcraft of Mayville for 35 years as a welder. He was a member of the Rock Bible Baptist Church of Theresa. His faithfulness and love for the Lord was evident in his everyday life. He was a chaplain at Dodge County Jail and ran the ministry of Crossbars Prison Ministry for 31 years. He was an avid Packers fan, played softball for many years, loved to grill, liked to camp, and enjoyed napping in his chair.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Dorothy.
The visitation will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2021, from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Trinity Baptist Church, 400 East Johnson Street, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. Funeral service will follow the visitation at 11:00 AM with burial to take place at 3:00 PM at Oak Center Cemetery.
