Helen Emma Nibbe, 90 of 486 Allen St. died Monday morning at All About Life Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness. She was born April 2, 1914, in Fond du Lac, a daughter of Albert and Emma Parge Ewert. A graduate of Goodrich High School, Mrs. Nibbe was awarded her Bachelor of Science degree from Oshkosh State Teacher's College (now UW-Oshkosh) in 1935.On April 24, 1948, she married Frank E. Nibbe in Evanston, IL. Mrs. Nibbe taught in Wisconsin at schools in Hiles, Wautoma and Baraboo following her graduation from college. She was working for the Internal Revenue Service in Chicago when she met, and married, her husband. Following the couple's move to Fond du Lac, she was a substitute teacher and teacher of homebound students for the Fond du Lac School System for more than 20 years before retiring in 1976. With her husband, she was an active member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Helen enjoyed playing cards, reading, fishing, gardening, watching and listening to televised and broadcast sports, and many other activities. Two sons, Frank J. and Robert P., survive Mrs. Nibbe, both of Fond du Lac; one sister, Margaret (Mrs. Earl "Sam") Stacey, of Merced, CA; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one sister, Bernice (Mrs. Harold) Pfalzgraf.
