Helen E. "Peggy" Flury

Helen E. "Peggy" Flury, age 95, died August 11, 2013 at Touchstone Living Center, North Fond du Lac. She was born May 20, 1918, in the Town of Waupun to Charles and Clara Henning Pollock. She attended Oakfield Schools and was a member of Community United Methodist Church, North Fond du Lac. She married Roy Flury of Oakfield on April 29th, 1935. After their marriage they moved to the family farm in Oakfield. She was employed by General Telephone as a telephone operator until Dial-up, and then worked for Oakfield High School as secretary. After the death of her husband she moved to FDL. She had many hobbies; of those she enjoyed most were baking cookies, playing cards, bowling, crocheting Afghans for her family and friends. She was the last survivor of her family. Helen is survived by five children; Verna (Tony) Scharschmidt, Ronald "Fritz" (Anna) Flury, Lois (Leo) Fisher, Walter "Pete" (Shirley) Flury, Wayne "Jo" (Maureen) Flury;16 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, 15 great-great grandchildren, 6 Step grandchildren, 4 Step great grandchildren. She is further survived by two brothers-in-law, David (Polly) Flury and Don Flury. Special friends, Keith and Dorothy Bird, and Bob and Shirley Hanke.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother and his wife, Walter and Mildred Pollock, six sisters and their husbands, Ruth and Herb Wilkinson, Gertrude and Louie Redman, Ethel and Raymond "Mike" Collien, Viola and Paul Henke, Marjorie and Lyle Balthazor, Dorothy "Tootie" Orin Nitschke, and one brother-in-law and his wife, Perry Earl "Hogan" and Evelyn Flury.



Visitation will be held on Thursday August 15, 2013 from 11am to 1pm at Community Methodist Church 701 Minnesota Ave. North Fond du Lac. Funeral services will take place at 1 pm at Community United Methodist Church, North Fond du Lac with Rev. Justin Lowe officiating. Entombment will follow at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
