Helen H. Nevalainen, 83, of Fond du Lac, was summoned to Heaven with harp and song Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at St. Agnes Hospital. She was born July 18, 1928 in Portage, WI, the daughter of Sydney and Ida Mae Bitney Hibner. On August 2, 1949 she married Tauno Nevalainen in Milwaukee, WI. Helen was a member of Community United Methodist Church, North Fond du Lac where she sang in the choir and was a member of Women's Fellowship. She also was a member of the North Fond du Lac and Fond du Lac Senior Centers and loved playing bingo. Helen enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, scrapbooking, doll collecting, reading, writing, ballroom dancing, and was a great supporter of veteran's organizations.SURVIVORS: five children, Karol (Jim) Dillie, Waupun, Anthony (Rodrigo Silva) Nevalainen, Madison, Virginia (Bill) Keatley, Newport News, VA, Patricia (David) Desjardin, Matthews County, VA, AnnMarie (Scott) Klewicki, Fond du Lac; nine grandchildren, Jeff (Kathy) Dillie, Eric (Shay) Dillie, Shannon (Sarah) Keatley, Chad (Kristen) Keatley, Derek (Mandi) Keatley, Sean (Fiancée, Florence) Keatley, Heather Klewicki, David Klewicki, Brandon Klewicki; nine great grandchildren, and one on the way; one brother, Harold Hibner, Phoenix, AZ; her cat, Pharoh; nieces, nephews, other relatives and numerous friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tauno; one brother, Arvin Hibner; one sister-in-law, Sondra.
VISITATION: will be from 9 "“ 11 AM on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Community United Methodist Church, North Fond du Lac. The funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Community United Methodist Church, North Fond du Lac with Rev. Justin Lowe officiating. Burial will take place in Central Wisconsin Veteran Memorial Cemetery, King, WI.The family would like to extend a special thank you to the 4 South Staff and ICU staff of St. Agnes Hospital and Pastor Justin for his support during this difficult time.Memorials are appreciated to the King Veteran Home or Community United Methodist Church.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
