Helen M. Grosse

Helen M. Simon Grosse, 99, of Fond du Lac, died Friday, January 1, 2016 at St. Agnes Hospital. She was born December 27, 1916 in St. Peter, the daughter of Ewald and Rosa Freund Schneider. On May 13, 1941 she married Roman Simon in St. Peter and he preceded her in death on September 16, 1978. She married Ivan Grosse on March 17, 1984 at Sacred Heart Church and he preceded her in death on May 6, 2004. Helen farmed with her husband Roman in Malone (Pipe) and then owned and operated the Northway Motel and Schreiner’s Restaurant until her retirement in 1981. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Church and their bereavement ministry and Christian Women Society. Helen was a mentor at Parkside Grade School and volunteered at the Galloway House and Village. She loved dancing, walking, talking, and spending time with her family.



She is survived by her children, Patricia Simon of Charleston, SC, Kathy (Jerome) Ausloos of New Holstein, Joe (Phyllis) Simon of Fond du Lac, and Michael (Linda “Tootie” Moon) Simon of Fond du Lac; her step children, Susan Yessne of Chicago, IL, Nancy (Jim) Passin of Chicago, IL, and Gary (Jana) Grosse of Hartford; three grandchildren, Toni Brunet, Lisa (Ken) Coye, and Lori (Gregg) Heller; two step grandchildren, Megan (Kelsa Perkins) Grosse, and Bradley Grosse; six great grandsons, Corey, Connor, and Cody Coye and Jaymeson, Weston, and Nolan Heller. She is further survived by her sister, Rosemary (Eugene) Steiner of New Holstein; sister-in-law, Donita Grosse of Neenah; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; one great grandson; three brothers; four sisters-in-law; and two brothers-in-law.



The visitation will be held from 2:00 – 5:30 pm on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6:00 pm on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery.



In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Holy Family Church, 271 4th Street Way, Fond du Lac, WI 54935 in Helen's name.
