Henry J. Gervais, age 86 of 1120 Michigan Avenue, North Fond du Lac, died Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born in Ashland, WI on May 19, 1925 the son of John H. and Mary Hilger Gervais. On June 5, 1948 he married Lorraine M. Kempf at Presentation Church, North Fond du Lac. Henry worked for the SOO Line Railroad for 39 years as a mechanic retiring in 1985. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army Infantry in the South Pacific from 1943 to 1946.Prior to entering the service Henry worked at the Ashland Ore Docks and sailed on ore carriers on the Great Lakes. He was a member of Presentation Catholic Church, North Fond du Lac. Henry enjoyed woodworking, grocery shopping, coupon cutting and collecting Avon bottles. He was a good husband, father and grandfather.SURVIVORS: Henry is survived by his wife Lorraine Gervais, North Fond du Lac, two children Richard Gervais, North Fond du Lac, Carol (Richard) Quinlan, West Bend, two grandchildren Jason Quinlan, West Bend and Trevor Quinlan, Dallas, TX, two great-granddaughters McKenna Lynn and Paige Elizabeth Quinlan. He is further survived by two sisters Marie Bloomquist, Green Bay, and Methodia LaGae, Solon Springs ,nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Marie, three sisters and one brother.
VISITATION: Friends may call on Friday, March 23, 2012 from 9 AM to 11AM at Presentation Church, 705 Michigan Avenue, North Fond du Lac. FUNERAL: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 23, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Presentation Church with Reverend Edward Sippel officiating. Trier-Puddy American Legion Post No.75 will conduct military graveside services. Entombment will follow at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
